Register to Collect and/or Report Tax

Introduction

Persons and businesses wishing to engage in taxable activity are required to register with the Department to collect and/or report tax. From this online application, you can register for the following taxes and/or fees:

  • Sales and Use Tax
  • Solid Waste Fees and Surcharge
  • Unemployment Tax
  • Communications Services Tax
  • Documentary Stamp Tax
  • Gross Receipts Tax on Electricity or Gas

If you are also a corporation, upon registration for any of the taxes/fees listed above, you will also be registered for Corporate Income and Corporate Intangible taxes.

This online application system will allow you to:

  • Begin and submit a new registration
  • Retrieve and continue an unfinished registration
  • Retrieve your certificate number after registration

Use this application:

  • To register a new business entity
  • To register a new location for an existing business entity
  • To report a change from county to county in Florida
  • To report a change of legal entity (i.e., changing from proprietorship to corporation, changing from corporation to limited liability company)

Do not use this application:

If you are already registered to collect and/or pay tax in Florida and you need to enroll to file and pay tax electronically, do not use this application! To enroll in the e-Services program to file and/or pay tax electronically, use the online Enrollment/ Authorization for e-Services.
