Online Refund Status Inquiry

Instructions

Overview: This site utilizes an application to provide a simple search feature to inquire about the current status of your tax refund. Please follow the steps below to search for the status of your tax refund:

  • Select the link "Check Tax Refund Status" in the menu options located on the left of this screen, this will navigate you to the application launch page.


  • Once the new window for the application displays, select the type of tax refund you are searching for or select "All" to search for all tax refund types. If your refund's specific tax type is not listed in the drop-down selection box, please select "All" to search for all tax types.


  • Enter the exact refund amount you requested.


  • Provide your tax account number, preferably the tax identification number used on your refund application. The following are the types of tax identification numbers you can use to perform a valid search:
    1. Social security number
    2. FEI number
    3. Aviation fuels license number
    4. Motor fuels license number
    5. Sales tax number


  • If you receive the message of "No matching records found.", you may try your search again with another exact amount requested, tax type, and tax identification number. This system is updated on a nightly basis so if your refund status search does not return any results, you may try your search again the following day.


  • If you are prompted with an error message on the refund status results screen, please return to the previous screen to correct the error.


  • To return to the previous screen to correct any search errors generated, select the "New Search" icon located at the top left of the search results screen or you may select the "Search Refund Status" menu link located at the top of the application screen.


  • Review the refund status results.


  • Once your refund status search is complete, select the "Close Window" menu option located at the top of the application screen.
