State Agencies Partner to Serve Floridians

~Mobile Licensing Office to Make Monthly Visits to Child Support Enforcement Center ~

JACKSONVILLE – Making changes that matter to you and improving customer service is a top priority for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. One way we are improving our services is by bringing them directly to our customers.

The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is pleased to announce its partnership with the Department of Revenue to bring services directly to customers, saving them a possible trip to our offices. Beginning Nov. 3 and 4, 2008, the Florida Licensing On Wheels mobile will visit the Department of Revenue Child Support Enforcement Center located at 921 N. Davis St., Building A in Jacksonville on the first Monday and Tuesday of each month. The hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"The Department of Revenue is excited to partner with state agencies to provide better, more efficient services to our customers," said Lisa Echeverri, executive director of the Florida Department of Revenue.

The Florida Licensing On Wheels mobile units are equipped with the technology and ability to bring valuable DHSMV services directly to customers. They provide a convenient method to renew a driver license, obtain a duplicate driver license, change a name or address on a driver license, get an identification card, register a vehicle and purchase a specialty license plate. Staff will not administer driving skills tests or hazmat fingerprinting for Commercial Driver Licenses at the FLOW mobile.

The FLOW mobile also offers DHSMVs newest safety initiatives through Emergency Contact Information registration, identification cards for children (ages five and older) and safety campaigns by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Customers wishing to obtain a driver license or identification card must bring an original or certified copy of their birth certificate and proof of their Social Security number. A complete list of acceptable identification documents is provided at www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/faqkeys.html. In addition to cash and personal checks, the Department accepts the following credit cards: MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is charged with the mission of providing highway safety and security through excellence in service, education and enforcement. The Department is leading the way to a Safer Florida by way of three major components: driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles and the Florida Highway Patrol.
