Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Guidance for Local Governments and Taxing Authorities
Executive Order 10-169 does not affect the value of property on the 2010 tax roll. As a result, this executive order will have no direct effect on the 2010 tax roll or local budgets.
The order allows local governments to request interim assessments of publicly-owned property from property appraisers to document damage for claims against BP or other responsible parties. Local governments can use other methods for documenting claims.
