About the Public Meeting
The Department of Revenue held a meeting by Internet broadcast to discuss two issues related to the draft Rule Chapters 12D-9 and 12D-10 as posted to the VAB page on 2/6/09. The issues discussed were the scheduling of VAB/Special Magistrate hearings and the applicability of the 4-hour rule. Participants discussed the possibility of holding similar meetings in the future and potential topics for these meetings. The public can participate in this meeting by attending personally in Tallahassee at Taxworld at 5050 West Tennessee Street or by accessing an Internet broadcast of the meeting. This Internet broadcast lets participants hear all comments made at the Tallahassee meeting and also lets the participants submit written comments that will be taken up during the meeting. Instructions on how to access the Internet broadcast of the meeting contain detailed information on how to register, who to contact at the Department if technical difficulties are encountered, and how to contribute written comments by e-mail during the meeting. Participants who submit written comments should include the following phrase on the subject line of their email: “March 13, 2009 VAB Public Meeting”.
