Purpose:The purpose of the proposed amendments to subsection (3), Registration of Transient Accommodations, of Rule 12A-1.060, F.A.C. (Registration), and subsection (7), Registration, of Rule 12A-1.061, F.A.C. (Rentals, Leases, and Licenses to Use Transient Accommodations), is to add the requirement for the taxpayer to provide a federal identification number, social security number, or taxpayer identification number; and to provide that the Department uses the social security numbers as unique identifiers for the administration of Florida's taxes, and that they are held confidential by the Department.
