Address/Tax Rate Lookup Page

The Address/Tax Rate Lookup Page is a DOR database that provides the local taxing jurisdiction and applicable Communications Services Tax rates for all addresses in Florida. The database also includes a file that can be downloaded by dealers in the Tax Jurisdiction Sourcing format that was developed for use by wireless telecommunications services providers and approved by the American National Standards Institute on June 4, 2002. The standards initiative was undertaken in response to the requirements of the federal Mobile Telecommunications Sourcing Act and represents the joint efforts of the Multistate Tax Commission/Federation of Tax Administrators Wireless Task Group (MTC/FTA Wireless Task Group). The standard was subsequently approved by the membership of both the FTA (on June 5, 2002) and the MTC (on August 2, 2002).

The database contains city and county names, as well as city and county FIPS codes and tax rates for every address segment contained in the database. It is primarily based on U.S. Postal System information and is updated every six months. The database is available for use in the following ways:

For use with Communications Services Tax:

• The public is invited to look up an address and verify the Communications Services Tax rates and applicable taxing jurisdictions using the Tax Rate Address Lookup page.(No registration is required.)
  
  
• Communications Services Tax dealers can download the entire address database by state or county using the Tax Rate Address Lookup page. (Registration is required.)
  
  
• Local governments can download the address database by state or county using the Tax Rate Address Lookup page. Local governments can also request changes to the database using the Master Address List Change Request. (Registration is required.)
  
  
• Mobile Telecommunications Sourcing Act Format.

Other uses:

• This database may also be used by the public as a search tool to determine the taxing jurisdiction (city or county) in which a Florida address is located.
  
  
• Future uses planned for this database include rate verification for discretionary sales surtax.
